For the first time since 2001, Florida has taken the top spot in The Harris Poll. Following Florida, California and Hawaii were the runners up. Voters in the poll vote for any state they would prefer to live in outside of their current state of residency. There are so many reasons why Florida tops the list but the obvious answers are the stunning beaches and incredible weather. Some of the age groups choosing Florida are, Millenials, Gen X, Baby Boomers, and retirees. Fort Lauderdale is witnessing a huge influx of visitors and it is not difficult to see why, considering the access to water and the abundance of opportunity in business that is moving to the area.
Within Florida, South Florida is getting a nod of recognition as one of the best places in Florida, Fort Lauderdale, in particular, is considered by many to be more desirable than Miami. It has access to deep water and fishing, it is the yachting capital of the world, and the dining is becoming increasingly popular as well. Shopping is abundant and luxurious at Galleria mall, which is undergoing renovation, and the Aventura Mall is just to the South.
